About these calculators tools
A set of pricing and profitability calculators for anyone who sells something. Each calculator shows the formula it uses, so you can check the maths and apply it yourself.
The recurring trap in pricing is confusing margin with markup. Margin measures profit against the selling price and can never reach 100%. Markup measures the same profit against cost and has no upper limit. A 50% markup is a 33.3% margin, and treating them as interchangeable quietly erodes profitability across a whole catalogue.
The second trap is forgetting what comes off after the sale. Payment processing, commission and absorbed shipping are all deducted from the price you set, not added to the cost you started from, so they have to be solved for rather than tacked on.

Frequently asked questions
Do these calculators include tax?
No. Work in net figures and add tax afterwards. Tax is collected on behalf of the tax authority rather than earned, so including it distorts every margin calculation.
Can I share a calculation with someone?
Yes. The values are written into the address bar as you type, so copying the URL sends the whole calculation. The page itself always stays the canonical one.
